Reporting a price that looks wrong

This is the message we most want to receive, and the one most often sent without enough detail to act on. Our rates move twice a trading day, so "your gold rate is wrong" usually cannot be checked after the fact. Four things make it fixable:

• Which page — the URL, or just the city name
• The figure you saw, and whether it was per gram or per 10 grams, and which karat
• The timestamp shown in the bar at the top of that page — this tells us which recorded rate you were looking at, which is the single most useful item
• What you believe it should have been, and where that figure came from — a jeweller's board, a local association rate, another site

One thing worth ruling out first: our figures are the benchmark metal rate only, before making charges, GST and wastage, so they will always be lower than a jeweller's quote for a finished piece. That gap is expected rather than an error, and is explained on how we calculate our rates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the gold rate on your site different from my jeweller's?
Because they are measuring different things. Ours is the IBJA benchmark for the metal alone. Your jeweller adds making charges, GST and any wastage, and may apply their own margin on top. Always confirm the final price with the jeweller.

How often are rates updated?
Twice each trading day, Monday to Friday, after IBJA's morning and afternoon publications. The exact time we recorded the figure you are looking at is shown in the bar at the top of every page. On weekends and market holidays you will see the last trading day's rate.

Why does every city show the same rate?
Because we apply no city premium. We removed the estimated premiums this site used to carry in October 2026, after we could not substantiate them against published local board rates. The reasoning is on the about page.

Will you add my city?
Possibly, but not just to have the page. A city page here is expected to say something specific about that market — which association sets a local board rate, which market you would actually buy in, what the seasonal pattern looks like. If we cannot write that, the page would be the national benchmark with a city name on top, which is not worth publishing. Tell us which city and what you think is distinctive about it.

Do you sell gold, or recommend where to buy?
No. We have no commercial relationship with any jeweller and carry no affiliate links. We also publish no forecasts or buy-or-sell views — see our disclaimer.

Can I use your data on my website?
Write to nievinnovationsllp@gmail.com with what you want to use and where. Please do not scrape the pages — it is slower and less reliable for you than asking.

I think a factual claim on a city page is wrong.
Please tell us, especially if you know the local market. Several claims on this site are deliberately attributed rather than asserted because we could not trace them to a primary source, and first-hand local knowledge is exactly what would settle them.
